FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

While I absolutely love to spend time getting to know you and your loved ones prior to booking, I also love to ensure that I'm the right fit for you. I know this might sound corny but I believe that a photographer client connection is just as meaningful as the connection you have with your soulmate. Without that moment where things just "click" between us then I'm just a gal with a camera that might be able to capture what you're looking for. But WITH that moment where things click just right between us, that's when I'm really able to capture the magic that is you. Without this connection it makes it harder for me to capture those kinds of photos that speak emotions by just looking at them. Those kinds of photos that show the beauty in you by just simply being. My hope for these FAQ's is to help you get a better idea of how I operate as a solo business owner and as a human being. To help you get a better idea of what it's like to work with me and what you will get out of your experience.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY SESSION?

While every session is different and I recommend discussing this question in more depth when we chat on the phone my overarching answer to any session is to keep the colors of your outfit/s neutral and earth toned. This helps to not take away from you and the purpose of the shoot, which is to photograph YOU and YOUR loved ones. Another big piece of advice I always give clients is to make sure to wear something that is an extension of you, something that makes you feel comfortable in your skin and something that embraces who you are. I always say if it isn't something you'd normally where any where else or in your day to day don't try to force it into a photo shoot unless it's enhancing something that you're trying to capture for yourself.

WHAT DETERMINES THE COST OF YOUR MILEAGE RATES?

I know I travel quite a bit between Arizona, Nebraska and Colorado and my mileage rates can be a bit confusing. Here's the lowdown - when I'm in Arizona (which is most of the year) I only charge mileage rates for anything over 30 miles from me. When I'm in Nebraska (which is typically 1-2 months in the summer and a few weeks in the fall) I only charge mileage rates for anything over 30 miles from me in Ogallala. When I'm in Colorado (which is typically a few weeks in the summer and a few weeks in the fall) I only charge mileage rates for anything over 30 miles from me in the Denver area. All travel dates are posted and updated on my social media accounts through Instagram and Facebook. Unless I have posted other towns that I'm traveling to within Arizona, Nebraska, Colorado or other western states these specifications are in effect for my "home bases". Travel fees are $1 per mile both ways.

CAN WE SHOOT AT A LOCATION THAT ISN'T

ON YOUR LOCATIONS LIST?

To this question I always say abso-freakin'-lutely. Exploring new places and finding new locations to shoot at is one of my favorite things about this lil' passion of mine. All I ask is that if it's a location you haven't been to that you give me some time to either do my research on it or go scope it out myself so that I can make sure I'm able to capture you and the location to the best of my ability. Something to consider when choosing your location is the time of day you are wanting to do your photos - the way the sun hits the horizon line and where plays a big factor in the lighting that we will get for your session. This is something I can definitely help you out with!

CAN YOU EDIT MY WAIST LINE

AND/OR MAKE ME LOOK THINNER?

I know what it feels like to want things like this edited. Luckily I have the best photographers who have become great friends of mine that help me feel so confident in front of the camera AND safe to just be myself. And that is exactly what I hope to do for you. While yes, I could use Adobe Photoshop to edit your waist line that just isn't really my style of photography. And when I say style I mean a style that doesn't embrace everything about you. My style of photography embraces an "in the moment" feeling with very light editing. It embraces natural human nature as much as it embraces natural tones and colors. It embraces the simplicity of your essence and the depth of your heart.

When we first chat about your session I love asking questions like "what are you hoping to get out of our time together, what are some of your favorite things about yourself and your loved ones, what will make this experience for you flow with ease and what is most important to you?" I feel like this helps me not only get an idea of how I can best capture you and your loved ones but also helps me get to know you better and get a feel for

how I will prompt and pose you.

CAN I BRING A SHOT LIST OF POSES I'D LIKE TO DO?

You can absolutely request some poses that you'd like to do for your session. I do ask though that they be provided to me prior to our time together so I can plan them out into your shoot accordingly. While I like to go with the flow of your energy during our time together I also like to go with the flow of what spots we frolic around to during your session or even on wedding days. Poses are fun to try but I do more so like to prompt you in doing something than have you hold a specific pose. For example I usually ending up saying things like - sway back and forth and look out and then look back at me or wrap your arms around each other and cuddle up in each others embrace.
